By Italian Law in accordance with the entry into force of the Legislative Decree
of 23/05/2011, n° 79, and the Ministry of the Interior newsletter n° 400/A/2012/23.1.3
of 05/03/2012, every person, including minors, is required to show an identity document with
a photo (ID card or Passport) in order to be registered in Hotel.
When checking into a hotel in Italy, no person may present the identification
of another guest, not even parents, guardian, or persons legally responsible for
Minors not accompanied by their parents in addition to ID Card or Passport, must
present a written statement of consent from their parents (or guardian) listing
the dates of the stay, and a photocopy of the parents’ (or guardian’s) ID document.
Groups of more than 20 people must present at check-in a list of all participants
(with official stamp) that lists the following information for each person: Last
name, First name, Date and Place of Birth, Number and type of valid ID card and
City of residence. Only the group leader’s identification document will be required
at the time of check-in.
